Oral Sex
What is it?
Oral sex is the process of using one’s lips, mouth, tongue, and perhaps even teeth to pleasure someone else.
The most commonly known versions are blowjobs and cunnilingus but you also have rimming, nipple play, and total body oral enticement.
Oral sex is considered by many to be an intermediary action, whereas others would argue it’s more intimate than penetration. A fair point; we use our mouths for so many things, eating, taking in deep swells of breath, and expressing our thoughts and opinions via the spoken word. To invite someone else’s bodily form in to a realm of such potential does have a certain gravitas to it, if considered in such a light.
Our ‘How To’ Advice
- The options for oral sex are varied based on the type of oral sex that you are doing but there are some general tips that we can impart.
- Never go in focusing on sucking, biting, or licking with full, unrestrained force. Your lips are the doorway to a greater realm of pleasure. Glide them over your play mate’s intimate area as a tease at first and to give yourself time to acquaint yourself with their body and how you might approach it.
- There is also a lot to be said about the breath and using its gentle force and warmth as a primer, especially if you include blindfolds or other forms of sensory deprivation.
- From there you can start to gradually include wrapping motions with the mouth, licking and exploration with the tongue (flicks, long sweeps, dainty lappings, etc.) and get daring with sucks and bites. Just remember to put a feedback system in place, even if it’s just looking to your play mate’s expression to see what’s a miss and what’s a hit.
- And, finally, remember to include your hands! Just because your mouth is the main player doesn’t mean you can’t have other elements in play too. A twisting motion on a shaft, for example, goes very well with sucking or swirling motions, as does a clitoral tap while sucking on a person’s labia.
What Are The Key Benefits?
- Oral sex introduces another way to play and a huge variety of additional tactile experiences for the recipient/s.
- It’s also a great way to learn new techniques and thus either improve one’s own sexual prowess or learn with a play mate/s for added intimacy and bonding.
- As hinted at above, adding in the mouth can put pressure off other motions, making the wrist cramp that some can get from hand motions a bit less intense.
Some Extra Tips
- Combine your oral sex antics with flavoured oils or lubricants for a delicious treat. There are so many different flavours and brands out there that you’re bound to find something for you.
- Just make sure that you check the ingredients and never use any non-sex related flavoured products to try and engage in oral sex. Urinary tract infections are a real risk with non-specific products or general food items.
- Be mindful of your teeth when first starting with oral sex. Consider other extenuating items such as piercings or braces. These may lead to more communication being necessary.
Bringing In The Sheets
- If you’re using flavoured lubricant things might get messy (especially if you’re going for a full-body experience). A good, fluidproof surface underneath you, such as our sheets, can help alleviate any excess mess.
- Equally there is a certain appeal about allowing saliva to be visibly seen during some oral experiences. If you’re self-conscious about this our sheets will make sure you leave no trace.
- For BDSM one could start off by pouring some flavoured product on the sheets and making the Sub lap it up before moving closer and closer to their Dom’s body (if they’re a good cleaner, that is).
Best Used For
Anyone and everyone. Oral sex is one of the most accessible forms of sexual experience. It’s body-based, encourages exploration, and has great feedback.
At least that’s what we’ve heard from word of mouth.
