We can’t believe it but this is the last exploration in to the different desires and fetishes that our sheets have offered themselves to since their creation.

When we first made our durable sheets we knew we wanted to help make everyone’s desires more liberated and carefree, but never did we imagine how much this endeavour would resonate, nor just what would be occupying the surface of our sheets.

Thanks to all of you, our amazing customers and readers, we have been introduced to so many different ideas and manifestations of sex, sexuality, and desire and we so grateful that we’ve touched your lives, as you have ours.

So, with deep gratitude, please enjoy this final glimpse into a fetish our sheets helped us discover, as we get down in the dirt and muddy ourselves up for some fantastically scruffy fun. Enjoy!

Pretty Perversions

Remember being a kid and getting your very first Barbie doll or action figure?

When they came to you they were likely perfect – well-dressed, smiling happily, and pristine down to the very last detail. And, chances are, you really loved that toy…but you still wrecked it.

There’s rarely a doll or action figure that makes it through ownership without being messed up. Sure, we care about these items, but we also want to take their clothes off, contort them in to weird angles, draw of them, and get them down and dirty in the mud.

Despite this, we still loved these objects and we still thought they were pretty, because at that point, they were ours and we’d stamped them with our own form of affectionate ownership – their own imperfect perfections.

This childhood desire to mess up and make these objects our own could very well be considered as a pre-cursor to salirophilia – a gratification arising from messing up the object of one’s desire – and, though many of us grow out of our ‘messy Barbie’ days, some people find creative more adult ways to revel in this sense of scruffy ownership.

Salirophilia 101

Salirophilia is a rarely recorded fetish but one that our sheets often compliment and one that we feel deserves more attention.

As mentioned above, this fetish is attributed with messiness, or making someone (usually an attractive individual) ‘ugly’ or dirty in some way. Before jumping to conclusions, this isn’t some sexual version of the ‘Ugly Snapchat’ trend that hit a few years ago, nor do those with salirophilia want to hurt, insult, or degrade the person that they’re attracted to.

As with all fetishes, the fantasies that someone with salirophilia has, do not reflect their overall attitudes or beliefs. Fetishists, in general, tend to be more aware of their sexual desires and, thus, more respectful of boundaries and clear on disclosure and communication. But there is something about mess or people being made to look (or making themselves look) messy or unattractive which appeals to those with salirophilia.

If you struggle to imagine the appeal of salirophilia then just think of any of those movie scenes where you see a muscular male lead cleaning up a vehicle. Their bodies are sweaty and they’re covered in dirt and grime yet, somehow, that element of scruffy, saturated filth is somehow fanning the flames of your already filthy fantasies.

The female contrast might be the conventionally attractive individual who chooses to ‘lay back’ by putting on a big baggy hoody and tying their hair in a casual bun. All of their curves are obscured and lose threads of hair run wildly from their semi-tamed mane yet, to you, they look even hotter than the ‘polished’ look.

Both of these would be casual examples of salirophilia: Deriving pleasure from mucky and messy looks.

Maybe the fetish is more wide-spread than we give it credit for.

A Uniting Fetish

To say salirophilia is discreetly commonplace is perhaps an understatement, too.

When you think about it, salirophilia intersects with many different fetishes, many of which we’ve mentioned in this anthology.

Sploshing, bukkake, urolagnia and coprophilia are all examples of pretty perversions that link directly to salirophilia. Each of these fetishes derives pleasure from messing up the body in some way, and the only true variations are the substance used by the fetishist and the potential intention behind each action or desire.

For example, someone in to piss play might be getting messy, which relates to salirophilia, but might enjoy it mainly for the sensation, not the sense of mess. Regardless, someone with salirophilia and someone with urolagnia could still form a very mutually beneficial fetish dynamic, given how well their fetishes tie together.

Mysophilia, an attraction to the soiled or dirty possessions of people (typically their clothing) is also related to salirophilia and, in this instance, you have an interesting element of time and tense in the fetish.

Although the messiness is still the focus of both attractions, salirophilia relates to seeing, being, and doing in the present – that is, interacting a person and playing a part in the mess made. Conversely, mysophilia is more about owning or experiencing the aftermath of someone’s messy predicaments – a glimpse in to the past. Add in an element of the future and this is a fetish that would make even Charles Darwin proud.

Sadly we can’t really help with mysophilia, as our sheets are well known for leaving no trace of one’s messy encounters post-play. Our apologies there.

Mud, Sheets, and High Art

When it comes to salirophilia, though, our sheets are just the trick for a truly messy session between fetishist and consenting individual/s. The methods of play that our sheets offer for someone who wants to muck up and muddy someone are actually so self-exploratory (and explanatory) that we feel it’s best to let you fill in those beautiful blanks should salirophilia ever catch your fancy.

There is, however, one final element of salirophilia worth mentioning, and it’s something we think our sheets can add a fun new angle to.

For many people with salirophilia there is also an interesting attraction to vandalised art pieces, or a desire to collect (and personally destroy or vandalize) prints or pictures of famous works of high art.

This fetishistic iconoclasm is incredibly interesting when it comes to fetishes and their wider engagement and influences on society, culture, and politics in general. To engage in art, after all, is to engage with a greater social narrative. To get sexual arousal from the defacement of art? Well, there’s a whole lot going on there. More than this article can necessarily delve in to. Instead, we offer those with salirophilia a fun suggestion.

As part of our ongoing aim to meet our customer’s needs, we offer bespoke sheet printing services. Imagine the potential of printing out your favourite artwork on to a sheet and being able to do whatever you want with it before then being able to wash it off and start all over again.

Alternatively, just imagine the living, breathing object of your desire lying on sheets made to have a bespoke frame around the edges – your very own eagerly consenting work of art just waiting to be vandalised.

The Final Flecks on the Sheet

Salirophilia is very rarely studied, poorly documented, and typically considered as an outlying desire. But, really, don’t we all like to make our partner a bit dishevelled and wet from time-to-time.

Smudged lipstick, half-torn underwear, the lazy after-sex shirts. These are all things that we admire and think of as fundamental in sex. While out culture made idolise polished beauty we all, on a primal level, desire the lustful messiness of scruffy sex.

Heck! One could argue that Sheets of San Francisco has found its success from this fundamental basis of subtle salirophilia amongst other pretty perversions. As we say on our About page our sheets are about allowing people to ‘make as much mess as people want, wherever, and whenever’.

This anthology has gone through an incredibly roster of sexual activities, our sheets being the supposed united theme of them all but, really, that’s not the point of this anthology. No, the continual theme of this anthology has been you, our customers, and the desires, activities, and sense of adventure that you have brought to the bedroom with each play session. Our sheets are simply along for the ride.

That being said, it is our sincere hope that they have brought something truly meaningful to your dynamics. This anthology may have reached its end but we will continue to be here facilitating your brilliantly authentic sexual messiness and pretty perversions.

Welcome to Tentacles Slime & Sheets, the second post in our final segment ‘A Freak On Top Of the Sheets’. Today, we’re delving in to a fetish that spread from Japan to the West with extreme enthusiasm.

As with the rest of this final segment, the fetishes discussed here might seem a bit more bizarre or ‘hardcore’ compared to your usual bedroom activities, but that’s what makes them so fun and interesting!

Whether you take fetishes that catch your fancy to the extreme or simply like to gain a slither of inspiration from them, we hope these final few articles inspire and educate all our amazing sheet-loving readers.

Enjoy!

Fun fact for you: Octopuses don’t actually have tentacles. It’s true!

As it happens, a ‘tentacle’ is an appendage that has suckers at the end of it, not all the way along the limb. Tentacles tend to come in pairs and are more common on cephalopods such as cuttlefish and squid. As for octopuses? Their limbs are known as arms (or, to be more precise, six of them are arms and two essentially function as legs). However, that hasn’t stopped us all from colloquially dubbing the limbs of an octopus ‘tentacles’ nor from creating one of the more bizarre, fascinating, and rebellious fetishes out there involving the term.

Oh yes: It’s time to talk tentacles.

An Introduction to Tentacle Fetishes

Tentacle fetishes revolve around a sexual attraction to tentacles and any entity, imagined or otherwise, that might sport them for sexual activity. The most common image that comes to mind when imagining a tentacle fetish is the stereotypical ‘tentacle monster’ or a giant octopus, often depicted in an erotic anime style known as hentai.

Hentai itself is short form for hentai seiyoku and literally translates to ‘perverse sexual desire’ (meant in the sweetest way, of course). In Japan (the term’s country of origin) this is what it most commonly means. However, in an international context ‘hentai’ as a term has come to mean any form of anime, manga, or other Japanese media content that is of a sexual or pornographic nature.

In this context, hentai can range from things such as the infamous and iconic Urotsukidōji (an erotic horror anime from 1986 featuring the first animated tentacle rape scene) to the contextually similar, but strikingly different The Dream of the Fisherman’s Wife by renowned artist Hokusai.

A Fetish Involving Rape?

Notions of rape might alarm some people at first, but it’s important to remember that rape fantasies are not indicative of a desire to be raped or to rape someone. As it happens, rape fantasies are actually some of the most common form of fantasies out there: with 31 to 57% or people fantasising about rape at least once a month.

This isn’t to say that such people want to be raped, rather they want to explore the power dynamic of having control taken away (or imposed upon them) by a dominant force in a manner that is safe and in their control (their own mind). When you think about rape fantasies in this context then they’re actually a rather complex and interesting way of people taking control and authority over something that would otherwise leave them completely powerless.

Delving Deeper

Tentacle rape adds another layer to this internal dynamic by adding a cultural one in to the mix. Originally Shunga works such as Hokisai’s The Dream of the Fisherman’s Wife, were about mutual pleasure from a woman’s perspective (the sea creature’s involved being so inhuman so to easily shift focus), allowing for rather radical explorations of this topic. This, however, couldn’t technically be called tentacle ‘rape’, as it was consensual.

The modern tentacle rape is something that Urotsukidōji’s creator, Toshio Maeda, suggests he used as a ‘get around’ for the strict Japanese censorship laws – which prohibited showing penetration from a penis but not anything else. Scholars have argued that the popularity and proliferation of such non-consensual sexual acts (and the fascination they elicited) came about as a response to the trauma of WWII and what it meant for the nation. Nowadays most people generally just enjoy the content and scenarios caused by tentacle porn, creating a strange fetish that stems from an amalgam of radical female representations, protests against censorship, and the collective experiences of a war-torn nation. Also there’s usually goo involved.

‘Goo’ or ‘Slime’ Fetishes

As one might imagine, the notion of having sexual interactions with a tentacle appeals for a variety of reasons – a prevailing one definitely being sensation.

The arm of an octopus is a fascinating limb in terms of sensation and texture. It starts with the typical tapered tip that would allow most people to ease in to penetration before widening to add a girth element. The suckers have their own look and feel and the idea of having something grasp at the skin with multiple sucking motions is enough to make anyone consider buying one of the many silicone, glass, or other material suction cup sex toys that have been produced.

But another large part of tentacle fantasies is the viscous nature of them. Look at any tentacle hentai and things get very messy very quickly. For the most part, this fluid is thick, sticky, and appears to get everywhere. Hence the connection to ‘goo’ or ‘slime fetishes’.

Such fetishes are, quite simply, an interest in the sensation and experience of being slathered in or covered in a slimy substance. Sometimes this involves penetration, sometimes the entire body, and very often both.

Tentacles – Making Fantasies a Reality

As with tentacle dildos, slime-like lubricants and products are now readily available to purchase online and make for some very messy fun. As you can imagine, this is where practical considerations come to mind, and you will want to make sure that you have a durable, easy-to-clean, purpose-made cover in place to enjoy your fantasies to the fullest.

Naturally, this is where we’d like to think that our sheets come in to play. With one of our products tentacle lovers will be fully liberated to explore their desires and (much like an artist or filmographer trying to defy conventions) will be able to break free of the boundaries of daily life in order to indulge in some kinky cephalopod action.

Of course, given the potential cultural appropriation, sensitive power dynamics, and non-human elements of tentacle play, we do recommend that anyone who wishes to explore it with a new partner does so with care and respect for their boundaries. It pays to emphasise a focus on the tactile enjoyment that you can get from tentacles and slime and to address any concerns (or preconceptions) that they may have at the notion.

If you do want to bring in a ‘rape’ or power dynamic then make sure that you explain why, what it means to you, and that you address any concerns or discomfort that they may have. Make it very clear that, although this is a fantasy where power is taken away, both parties ultimately have the full range of consent and autonomy as with in any other sexual situation.

No matter the outcome, or how experienced you are with the teasing textures of tentacles, you can rest assured knowing that our sheets are available to allow that goo and tentacles can slide over the body freely.

Believe it or not, with this post on Medical Fetishism we’re in the final stretch of the ‘Beneath the Sheets’ anthology series. Welcome to the first post in our final segment – lovingly titled ‘Doctors & Nurses’ but all about being a freak on top of the sheets, and we say ‘freak’ in the most loving and celebratory of ways.

Who doesn’t like letting their freak flag fly every now and then? Or feel a rush at the prospect of ‘getting freaky’? We know we do.

This section looks at the more ‘hardcore’ fetishes out there – what’s involved in them, how to practice them, and how our sheets can help.

Just the sheer prospect gets us all feverish. Maybe we need a doctor…

Medical Fetishism
Speculums, stethoscopes, pinwheels, and catheters. A lot of us might hear these words and physically shy away from them, as if the mere mention of that odd metal duck-bill might cause a doctor to suddenly manifest and spread our leg, but, to some, we just authored a short erotic story in that sentence.

Medical fetishism is a fascinatingly diverse form of fetish in which participants derive sexual pleasure from medical scenarios and/or interplay. The reason that this fetish is so interesting is because a medical fetish is diverse as the healthcare and medical profession in general. Anything that involves health, wellness, and the need for a doctor or nurse could potentially play in to medical fetishism. Such a diversity makes medical fetishism a great form of BDSM, sexual roleplay, or extreme play for all levels.

Entry level medical fetishism might involve:

Purchasing a ‘sexy nurse/doctor’ outfit at your local sex shop and staging a dominant/submissive roleplaying scenario in which there is a medical professional/patient dynamic.
Buying some basic first aid objects (or a kit) and using them as part of roleplay or sensation play to add in some diversity. Examples being bandages as handcuffs, plasters to put on the skin and swiftly pull away, cotton wool pads brushed against a patient’s skin, etc.
Taking advantage of a real gentle cold or slight injury (such as a sprain or a small cut) to play real as well as imagined ‘doctor’ and add a sexy ankle to treating the wound, massaging in some vapour rub, caring for your significant other, etc.
Intermediate play might include:

Adding some additional sensation tools, such as hot/cold objects to ‘test’ a patient’s sensations.
Purchasing some more advanced medical equipment (a stethoscope, blood pressure device, or a neurological reflex hammer) in order to make any roleplay between you more realistic, and perhaps even a bit more medically beneficial.
Learning and doing some real medical examinations as part of your play, such as a breast or testicular exam.
Bringing in the gloves and starting to do some anal examinations or ‘testing’ the patent’s vaginal health with a good dose of fisting/finger insertion.
Exploring pain alongside the medical angle by introducing things such as a pinwheel.
Practicing responsible anal douching or penis/clit pumping.

Getting Freaky (Carefully)
Up until the intermediate point, medical fetishism is still very accessible to most people, and shouldn’t cause any serious pain or long-term marks/impact. Even pinwheels, which look scary, are made from body-safe materials and feel gentler than a cat’s claws if lightly applied. It’s only with the addition of pressure that things begin to get more intense. And, speaking of intense, medical fetishism can definitely get in to some pretty advanced territory. Some people even get medical training in order to perform at the most advanced levels, or purchase their gear directly from sites intended for surgical or hospital use.

This may sound extreme but is actually encouraged with some of the more technical forms of medical fetishism.

If, for example, creating fresh wounds, performing actual examinations, or inserting a medical device is involved then it is vital that proper, sterilized equipment is used and that the person performing the exercise is trained and confident in engaging in their medical fetish.

Some forms of advanced medical fetishism might include:

The use of a scalpel to draw blood or make small, surface-level wounds with sterilized medical equipment (linked with hematolagnia: sexual arousal at the inclusion of blood during sex).
The administration of a medical examination with a speculum. This might be augmented with the use of camera devices (go-pro vibrators are a thing).
Play involving urine, stool, vomit, or other bodily fluids.
Spectral sounding (where small steel rods are inserted into the urethra) or the administration of a catheter (never to be done without training).
Mental health roleplays, in which straightjackets and similar tools might be purchased as used as part of play.

Equipment Matters
As you might have ascertained, medical fetishism is a kink that can potentially involve a lot of gear. When you’re playing with a form of sexual practice that involves the health and wellness of the body then it is important that you make sure that you invest in the correct and appropriate items for your fetish.

Even entry level medical play will usually involve at least one purchase and, at all levels, we like to think that our sheets can help augment the medical experience.

A large part of medical fetishism hinges on the immersion of those involved, and that is best done with outfits, attitudes, equipment, and setting. While we can’t help with outfits, we like to think that our sheets tick the box for the other three categories. Check out specialist websites such as medfetuk.com for other specialist equipment.

Examining the Sheets
With the purchase of a fluidproof, durable white sheet from our selection, any bed, chair, or sofa can easily be transformed in to a pure white medical surface from which to examine a patient. This allows for a safe space to allow fluids to flow freely and provides peace of mind that your play will stay strictly within the professional confines of your sheets.

Establishing this space will do wonders for getting you in the right frame of mind for medical roleplay too. Prepping a scene can sometimes be a powerful component of its success, and getting a patient’s sheets/examination area set up with the sweeping placement of a pure white sheet is almost cathartic.

But, perhaps most importantly, our sheets will provide a clean, fluidproof area from which advanced users can confidently perform their medical processes and allow for urine, stool, or vomit to be involved without increased risk of contamination or infection. In this way our sheets can be an important aspect of participant safety when it comes to medical fetishism.

Add to this the almost rubbery surface of our sheets – often associated with medical settings – and you’ve pretty much got the ideal item in our sheets for this kind of play.

For professional Medical Dominants we also believe that our sheets are invaluable: Setting the scene perfectly and then allowing for an easy cleaning process in between clients. If you attend a Medical dungeon and they don’t have our sheets (or run one and have yet to invest) then it might be worth changing that. We feel that any professional would be impressed by the way our sheets can elevate a professional play session.

Investing In the Best
Medical fetishism allows for some interesting alternative approaches to sex, sexual desire, and kink, but it is a fetish where you will want to invest in the best to ensure safety throughout.

While we can’t keep you covered in every regard, our specialist fluidproof sheets can at least cover the surface on which your examination commences, and that is something we take great pride in.

This section looks at kinks and sexual explorations that involve getting a bit down and dirty (in the best way possible).

Are you hungry for knowledge? Because in this instalment we’ll be looking at the sweet and savoury world of sploshing.

If you’re new to this series, feel free to start from the beginning before joining us for our fine dining experience.

Bon appétit.

Sploshing

Here at Sheets of San Francisco we have been blessed with many descriptive reviews over the years. Each of these reviews has put emphasis on the surface of our sheets – illustrating, with poetic grace, the sensation of stroking against the surface of our waterproof fabric. ‘Silky’, ‘smooth’, and even ‘cooling’ have all been repeated with enthusiasm, and each time we hear these descriptions a smile comes to our face. Yet others, still, have chosen to take things further.

Yes, our sheets when used alone may be silky, but are they silky like a warm chocolate tart?

They’re smooth, but how about making them smooth like a decadent cream?

And cooling? For some. But not as cooling as ice cream, rippling down the body to be lapped up in due time.

This is where sploshing comes in to play.

What Is Sploshing?

Sploshing is a fetish centred around the enjoyment of getting wet and messy, hence the other name it goes by: WAM – Wet & Messy

When most people think of sploshing they typically think of cakes and pies, and, most commonly, that scene from American Pie. But sploshing doesn’t always need to involve food, some people, for example, prefer their sploshing to involve mud. For these individuals those 5 and 10k mud runs must get the heart pumping for a multitude of reasons, but, for this article, we’ll be sticking to the most common WAM material, which is food.

Sensation or the visual appeal of being covered in something we’re typically told not to ‘play with’ can often be the appeal for hardcore sploshers.

It is, to some degree, instinctual for us to feel our food – to take it up in our hands and really get acquainted with its various nuances. Indeed, some cultures still retain this connection with their food, and to have it curtailed is a great loss.

This was once even famously depicted in The Life of Pi in a moment where the protagonist was criticised for using his hands to pick up food. To explore this excerpt for a moment:

I blanched. My fingers, which a second before had been taste buds savouring the food a little ahead of my mouth, became dirty under his gaze. They froze like criminals caught in the act. I didn’t dare lick them. I wiped them guiltily on my napkin. He had no idea how deeply those words wounded me…I picked up the knife and fork. I had hardly ever used such instruments. My hands trembled. My sambar lost its taste.

Sploshing takes this ‘taste’ for food – the hunger for its sensations and tactile delights, and makes it into a complete bodily experience.

Why relegate your enjoyment of food to a knife and fork when you can feel it drizzle on your skin, run it through your hair, and lick it off your lover’s chest? What is the ‘taste’ of those experiences like? Splosh and you just might find out.

Degrees of Indulgence

Naturally, not everyone will be entirely enamoured with the notion of having Bird’s Eye Custard near their actual eyes. In which case we have good news for you.

Much like any fetish or kink, there are varying degrees of involvement when it comes to sploshing. Dedicated fetishists may wish for this all-encompassing encounter with their entrées, but if you’d just prefer an appetiser then there’s nothing to stop you.

Easing in with some whipped cream, chocolate syrup, or even things such as strawberries, or a banana is also fine too. What matters is the sexual experience that you want to engage in, and your own personal comfort level (or levels, if others are involved).

Even at these ‘explorative’ levels you can always be a bit bolder or try out different ways to take things to ‘the next level’ without needing three different shampoo attempts afterwards.

Those who want to explore temperature play, for example, can try using ice cream, lollipops, or warm fudge cakes or sauces. Those dabbling in dominance can ‘spill’ or ‘draw on’ certain parts of their body with food and then get their submissive to lick it off (perhaps even blindfolded).

How far you take things from there is up to you.

To Splosh with Sheets

We’ve explored, many times, the practicality of our sheets when it comes to messy play.

And sploshing is a very messy playstyle.

The typical way to make full sploshing accessible is to find a suitable place for play (usually, lamentably, a bathroom) lay a plastic sheet down (for the waterproof aspect) and top it with a disposable cheap sheet. This involves a lot of small purchases that add up over time, is not the most comfortable of experiences, and, depending on the space, may not even be the most hygienic or ‘sexy’ either. But our sheets can change all of this.

No longer relegated to the bath or the shower (if you even have large enough spaces for adult play in the bathroom), or forced to purchase, wreck, and dispose of many cheap sheets or uncomfortable plastic surfaces, our sheets are literally designed to make your sexual desires come to fruition.

Our sheets, in contrast, are single layered, designed for portability, completely fluidproof (no matter what food you challenge them with), and are lightweight for easy transport and storage. They’re also a high-quality single time investment, so you’ll never have to worry about accumulating purchases and excess waste again.

But, perhaps our favourite part of our sheets for sploshing is that you can use them in a variety of ways.

Want to splosh on the bed? Well, they’re not called ‘sheets’ for fun (not entirely, at least).

Need a large surface to stand on? Lay our sheets on the floor in your kitchen, bedroom, or anywhere else and begin your food-based fucking.

And, for those who want to get traditionally romantic we have a spectacular suggestion.

Bring our sheets to your dining room table, folded to size, and begin your meal on them, laying out some foods to enjoy orally and others in, ahem, other ways. Start off your exploration sitting at the table, move on top, and then unfold and lay out the sheets as needed from there.

With our product you really can have the full culinary experience, and we truly hope you do.

Sploshing Safely

Although we are all for sploshing, we’re also about your safety, and so we thought it important to include this little section on sploshing responsibly.

The potential that our sheets provides means that, for some users, this may be the first time that you get the ‘full WAM experience’. This may lead to a desire to go absolutely bananas (perhaps literally) and smother food all over your body, but please do be careful.

The genitals (especially the vulva and vagina) are clever but rather delicate self-cleaning systems, and when something is introduced that disrupts its natural balance some irritation can occur.

Sweet foods are notorious for causing urinary tract infections and other bacterial concerns if they come in to contact with the vulva’s internal entrances, meaning that you may want to protect or avoid these areas entirely. Kink-specific items exist to enable this, and we always advise doing your research extensively before fulfilling an unexplored fetish.

Food should never, under any circumstances, be inserted internally in to the body either, especially if that food has no perceptible flared base. Such exploration might have been popularised by mainstream media (can you say cucumber?) but it has no practical place in your play time.

If you do want some food-based insertibles then, again, specialist silicone items exist online to aid in your desires.

Dining in (Sheeted) Style

As with any dining experience, your preferences may vary wildly depending on your palate and personal proclivities.

You may notice that we’ve stuck to mainly sweet options in this article, for example. This isn’t to deter our savoury fans, but simply because most people begin to explore sploshing through known sweet treats.

If you do decide to get more adventurous and expand your dining options, then you can rest assured that our sheets will still be there for you. Perhaps, a Taco Tuesday is in your future?

Whatever you’re in the mood for we hope that our sheets can be the perfect complement to your meal (and, just so you know, we do offer bespoke services and are not at all opposed to creating a checker ‘tablecloth’ if required).

Enjoy.

In this section we get nice and messy exploring all of the wonderfully kinky and fetish-based fluids that might grace our sheets with their presence. Fetishes about and a splash warning is an absolute must.

We started our last section with a look at squirting, something that’s definitely #NotPee, so what better way to start this section that with the real deal? Oh yes, urine for some fun this time round (as if we could resist that pun?)

If you need to catch up on ‘Beneath the Sheets’ then why not check out the full collection here?

They say that most people are drawn towards careers that they have a personal investment in and this was certainly the case for Havelock Ellis – a Victorian sexologist, and co-author of the first book on homosexuality way back in 1897. Havelock had a problem, you see: While he was a progressive social influencer in the fields of sex, sexuality, and fetishes, Havelock himself was completely and totally impotent.

This continued to be the case until Havelock reaches his 60s, at which point he somehow managed to witness a woman urinate and, lo and behold, it turns out he liked it.

Havelock was a hardcore Urophiliac – someone who gains sexual gratification from urine and urination – and golden showers were the key to his sexual liberation at sixty.

Back in Havelock’s day, the act of sexual urination was a little hard to accidentally stumble upon by mistake, hence the lamentably late revelation. But nowadays, thanks to the internet, Urophiles can discover their desires at a much younger age, and golden showers are so well knowns, they’re practically mainstream (that ‘stream’ being yellow and warm).

Playing With Pee

Of all the activities in our exploration of the uses for our sheets, urine play is probably the most contentious to date. There’s something about urine play that just sits poorly with many, the thought of it causing instant revulsion for quite a few or even a sense of bewildered amusement. One need only think of the political scandal with Trump and #goldengate to see this in action.

Yet, when #goldengate hit, Pornhub reported a 289% increase in searches for ‘golden showers’, demonstrating that, although we sometimes like to act reserved about our sexual interests, most of us have at least a mild fascination with the idea or urine play.

Call it waterports, golden showers, or Urolagnia, urine play is all about enjoying urine and the act of urination in a variety of creative ways and getting wet is all part of the fun.

Why Engage In Urine Play?

For those who enjoy urine in a sexual context, there are many reasons to cherish the flow and feeling of this golden fluid. The wetness, the sensation, the warmth. Urine is a natural tactile enjoyment, that is readily available after just a few glasses of one’s chosen fluid. If you can muster up a full bladder then you can get involved in urine play, making it one of the most equipment-light fetishes out there (although accessorising is always an option).

Perhaps one of the biggest reasons most people give for enjoying urine play is breaking that social taboo that we’ve all put on urine and urination outside of restrooms. Think about it – from the moment we were young enough to learn, most of us are told exactly how to urinate, where to urinate, and that the process is something that you ultimately want to be entirely private in nature. Heavy restrictions on urination and the firm behavioural conditions to when it’s okay to relieve ourselves are drilled in and we’re typically shamed or ridiculed if we break these in any way.

Urine play allows for an active defiance of these rules, and creates a liberating sensation, both mentally and physically. The release of urinating may, for some, be similar to the release felt as a submissive, where social expectations are equally surrendered as you give yourself over to the situation at hand. If you can understand how freeing being at the whims of a dominant is, then you’re got the mind set of Urophiles down, even if you don’t share in how they explore their personal release.

Equally, dominants might enjoy sharing in (or encouraging) this release, and guiding their sub into the enjoyment of urination. In such instances the urine that they watch flow from their partner might be gratifying due to what it represents, in addition to how it feels.

Considering the shame associated with urine, it’s also very easy for people to make the link between urination and acts of humiliation and voyeuristic exposure. Having someone see you urinate and punishing you for it is something that some Urophiles enjoy greatly. Equally the supposedly ‘dirty’ nature of urine can mean that some feel humiliation from being urinated on – golden showers with a degree of domination.

Social aspects aside, urine also just presents a really great play option.

Not only is urine a practically cost-free addition to sex, but it can also offer great variation in terms of strength, scent, warmth, and sensation depending on how it’s received and how you choose to use or share it.

Much like sharing saliva, cum, or squirting, urine also represents a willingness to share intimate bodily fluids, and there’s a certain amount of enjoyment that can be derived from testing different forms of urine play (or drinks and food beforehand) and seeing how it affects play.

What’s more, as long as the person urinated has the sexual go-ahead in terms of STIs, urine poses no health risks and is considered to be sterile in that healthy urine contains negligible amounts of bacteria and waste material. Just make sure neither of you have any bacterial infections either.

Putting Down The Sheets

At this point your own thoughts on urine play might have lessened and you may be receptive to the idea of embracing your own flowing liquid gold. Alternatively, you may already be a Urophile and you’re lusting for the next great addition to your activities.

Either way, we know that many of our clients enjoy combining our sheets with their urination and would like to make a few suggestions about how the two could go together for beginners in addition to suggesting new ways to enjoy sheets in you play.

Keeping Things Clean: This is the obvious one, but we like to think of it as ‘an oldie but a goodie’. Sheets of San Francisco are designed to be waterproof and to make sure that no stray fluids ruin your fun.

If you previously kept your urine play activities in the bathtub or shower due to not wanting to wet the bed, carpet, or anywhere else, then our sheets open up new options in terms of location.

What’s more, we’d like to think our sheets are warmer and cosier than the cold, firm surface of a bathtub (or even the rubbery, pool-like qualities, of inflatable adult baths) meaning they could even be used as a complimentary addition to your usual locations.

Adding Another Sensation: Enjoying how urine feels on your body may be part of your play experience, but have you also considered how that urine feels against different surfaces? There may just be additional enjoyment to be had in feeling (and hearing) urine trickle on to and cover the surfaces of our sheets. What about moving around on top of this urine and feeling how it alters the way your skin interacts with the urine? Just a few starting suggestions for you sensation lovers among our readership.

Temperature Play: With urine lingering on the surface of our sheets, you may suddenly find that you get to experience how it looks, feels, and smells at different temperatures in a way that might not have been viable before. Like warm vs cold drinks, some might find that they have a clear preference, but having the option to discover this preference is where the fun lies.

Combining Kink: Our sheets typically come in black but we also offer other colours and a bespoke print service for those who wish to enjoy it, so why not take advantage of this by combining a few fetishes at once?

If you’re a fan of Watersports and have an intermingling medical fetish then our white sheets are wonderfully clinical and ready for you to book in an appointment with the Urophile in your life.

Adult babies and their dominants may also find that a bespoke baby-print sheet is perfect for when those little trickles slip out during changing sessions. Whether or not our sheets go from ‘changing mat’ to ‘play mat’ after that is up to you. Just know that, when it comes to your free flowing fantasies, we’re dedicated to making them a waterproof reality.

Just A Trickle

And that, sad to say, concludes this look at Urophilia and our sheets.

We could say more, so much more on the topic: Looking, for example, at the link between water sports and queer culture and exploring how acts of urine play, facilitated by products such as ours, can play a pivotal part in carving safe and celebrated spaces for the representation of queer sexual identity, but then we’d need a whole other article at least.

Instead we’d just like to thank those who have found a use for our sheets when it comes to urination. The link may be an obvious one, but the possibilities are seemingly never-ending, and we hope you find an exciting way to combine the two in your own play sessions.

If you need to catch up on ‘Beneath the Sheets’ then why not check out the full collection here?

Nestled in Kawasaki City is an area of erotic delights known as the Soapland Shop. Although pricey, a wise tourist can go to this location and get a very refined brothel experience, including an incredibly thorough ‘cleaning experience’ in which a member of staff uses their naked body to rub soap into the client, making sure that they are completely clean, head-to-toe (and everywhere in between). This is what gives the Soapland Shop its name but it’s not necessarily what the Kawasaki experience is best well known for.

Following the bathing, a trained professional administers a deeply relaxing (well, depending on what relaxes you) ‘nuru’ massage. This massage involves the masseur covering themselves and the client in an incredibly slippery oil and then using their own body to massage that of the client. These massages are done completely naked and, as you can imagine, they can be a rather intimate and intense experience.

Nuru Massage: The Appeal

Alright, alright, the appeal of Nuru massage might be inherent in the activity itself, but humour us while we explore just what makes this form of massage compelling enough to put Kawasaki City on the map, for erotic enthusiasts worldwide.

Having someone use their hands, fingers, or other singular body parts is an experience all its own, and not one to be dismissed, but, having someone try to get past the surface of your body and really soothe and engage your deeper layers of muscle and fascia with their entire body, well, it’s something that can only be experienced to be believed.

The effectiveness of these massages as a viable form of muscle relief may be a bit dubious, but the mental experience of such a fully comprehensive, highly sensual physical exchange is something that can be incredibly beneficial.

Comprehensive bodily experience is a strong element of what makes Nuru massage so popular but so, too, is the sensation of being covered in oil – and, further than this, engaging in a full body activity, while having this additional element involved. Anyone who has walked on a bathroom floor before and after using foot oil knows just how much this can change how they feel, how the floor feels, and, in turn, how they experience the world. Granted, in this example chances are that interaction becomes a little more cautious, but shh!

The Ultimate Intrigue

But the best part of Nuru massage, as with all massage techniques, is that you don’t necessarily need to be fully trained and accredited to give it a try. All you need is the right equipment and a desire to have a go. Practice is key to improvement here, after all, so the moment of ‘Let’s give it a go’ might even turn into ‘I put the Soapland Shop to shame’ over time.

When it comes to technique, the Nuru massage style is pretty beginner-friendly, with one of you acting as the subject of the massage while the other person (or people: Nuru is very poly-friendly) aims to rub their body against the client to massage them. The key is to go for as much bodily contact as is possible in any given position.

A typical almost ‘missionary’ style is good for spreading the Nuru Oil or Gel) over the person’s body, with circular, grinding, or even enthusiastic up-and-down motions helping to create extensive tactile sensations over the torso, but this doesn’t have to be the only way you enjoy each other’s bodies. As long as there’s large bodily contact and dynamic movements you’re pretty much on the right track.

Sitting on the subject of the massage, for example, is entirely viable, using one’s amazing booty to create the deep tissue engagement that you’re hoping for. In this way the Nuru massage technique is also rather fluid (pun intended): It can be applied to many other fetishes or desires, including feet and face sitting fetishes, crushing fetishes, and erotic wrestling.

The main addition being the Nuru oil/gel and, of course, the environment.

That’s Where We Come In

How could we not be completely enthused about Nuru massage from the moment we heard about it? An intimate experience that involves a range of sexual interests, is all about tactile sensations alongside physical and mental engagement, and involves making a huge, carefree mess? We’re half tempted to contact the Soapland Shop first-hand and see if they want to place an order for our sheets!

Our confidence in the harmonious relationship between our sheets and your Nuru massage aspirations is as comprehensive as the bodily-contact that you’ll be having once you’ve put our product to good use.

Nuru massage is inherently messy, due to the essential nature of the oil. A good Nuru oil should be incredibly thick and goopy (and, thankfully, you can buy quite a few Nuru-specific oils to get this authentic feeling).

Being able to lie, without worries, on a fluidproof surface and allow your body to be covered in this oil and then your oiled partner/s embrace, is fundamental to the relaxing element of a Nuru massage. Your engagement with the sensual element of the experience is immediately augmented the moment you stop worrying about all of the mess that Nuru massage can make, allowing you to truly appreciate this very specialized and increasingly popular, form of massage.

The larger size of our sheets also allows for the incredibly dynamic and experimentally ambitious movements that newcomers to Nuru massage might want to try. Even if you slip ‘off target’ as it were, you’ve got all the space you need to laugh it off and continue with your slippery fun.

Without fluidproof sheets most beginners to Nuru massage might be tempted to try out their escapades in a bath or shower, but we don’t feel this is wise. Not only are these environments incredibly firm and uncomfortable when it comes to a soft ‘massage’ environment (especially when bodyweight is involved), but they’re also a real hazard in terms of slipping. Trying to grip the side of a bath when your hands, arms, and everything else are covered in incredibly thick oil is not the wisest of decisions.

Between bukkake and the treats that abound in Kawasaki we’ve had quite some fun with Asia’s contribution to the adult world and how well they fit with our sheets (again, pun intended) but now it’s time to move on.

Tune in next month when we begin to look at liquids and other tactile treats that go beyond oils and bodily fluids. No need for an umbrella, though – our sheets have got you covered.

Welcome to “ Cum Play With Us ”, the second segment of the second part of our ‘Beneath the Sheets’ anthology, ‘Unfolding Desire’.

If you need to catch up on ‘Beneath the Sheets’ then why not check out the full collection here?

Don’t worry: You won’t turn a corridor and find two creepy little ghost girls in this article. Nor will there be elevators full of blood reigning down on you, though we’re sure that, given enough of our material, you’d be able to handle such a scenario.

Today we’re going to look at something that gets the heart racing for completely different reasons to the Kubrick classics: We’re looking at cum play.

What Is Cum Play?

It’s a rare person who hasn’t at least heard of bukkake – the action of multiple individuals ejaculating on to a single person. This is usually all men, coming on one woman, or alternatively on one man.

Bukkake is thought to have originated in Japan in the 1980’s, but has since become popular in the Western world and in gay communities, because, let’s face it, sometimes cum is sexy.

This may be one of the most popular forms of cum play but it’s certainly not the only example.

Pulling out and ejaculating on a partner’s skin is another example (for those who don’t have access to their own orgy ring), as is climaxing on a partner’s face.

Breaking it down to the bare bones, cum play is any sexual act that involves and, to some extent, focuses on a person’s semen.

This takes what may otherwise be just a biological material and makes it a powerful fluid of sexual fascination, and, as a result, gives a sense of sexual confidence to those who can produce it and those who love to play with it.

Is It Safe?

For those who have never participated in cum play before the first concern many very well be health and safety. This is sensible. Certain STIs can be contracted through bodily fluids, so it pays to keep in mind your partner’s sexual health status and to ask if they’ve been tested before engaging in any form of fluid exchange.

If everyone involved has the all clear then there isn’t too much to worry about beyond this. Semen is perfectly safe to have on the body, It’s neither harmful nor necessarily beneficial to ingest. That said, if you’re planning to have your partner ejaculate on your face you will want to close your eyes: It is characteristically salty!

Semen is about 5-10% sperm and the rest is comprised of vitamin C, fructose, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, vitamin B12, zinc, nitrogen, calcium, as much protein as an egg white, and as a an additional fun fact, comes in at about 20 calories! This doesn’t make sperm a magical formula, but it is interesting just what our bodies can produce.

But, for those who find that conventional cum play is not an option, there is no need to fret. Nowadays there are lots of different lubricants on the market that aim to mimic the texture and appearance of cum. These lubricants can even be coupled with sex toys that have ‘cum tubes’ for those who aren’t naturally capable of producing semen or have difficulty climaxing. There is always an option for those who are craving a bit of jizz in their life.

The Appeal of Cum Play

For those uninterested in cum play it may be hard to grasp just what is so appealing about the action and we get it. Bukakke has linked cum play with misogyny in some people’s minds, whether the act is consensual or not, and even the word ‘cum’ can seem vulgar to many. This leads to quite a lot of mental barriers in any effort to try and understand people’s fascination with giving semen a sexual role in the bedroom.

To help try and bridge the gap we’ve come up with a little thought experiment.

Whether you’re craving our sheets or already own them, take a moment to cast your mind to just why they appeal to you.

Think of their lightness, the way they glide over your bed, the sense of them as they slide through your fingers.

What does that sensation do to you? Does it excite you?

Perhaps you take a moment longer to linger over the surface of the sheets, stroking them for reasons beyond practical arrangement. You like how the sheet’s surface feels under your fingertips. You like the sensation even more when you place your body down on the sheets, and make their surface – their tactile elements – part of your play.

For someone who likes cum play semen is synonymous with our sheets. It feels good when spread across the fingers, perhaps better when rubbed against the body. Its natural qualities – thickness, warmth, taste – are all features worth exploring, and they ignite a sense of undeniable arousal in the mind…and body.

And, just like our sheets are a constant part of any experience that they take part in, cum play can bring an all-enveloping rush to a sexual experience, and bring a sense of confidence and reassurance.

We all have our kinks and turn ons, be they sheets or semen, and, understand them or not, the rush they can provide is not to be shied away from.

When Cum Meets Fabric

Of course, there are some practical considerations for prolific cum appreciators – one of which being the persistent nature of semen once it meets with fabric. As many teenage masturbators discover, semen is a rather distinct fluid that, once it meets with most sheets, will maintain its presence there quite stubbornly.

Now, imagine you’re someone who does want to engage in bukkake, or get covered in multiple ejaculations, or even play with a lot of water-based cum lubricant, such as Spunk Lube. Then you’ve got a problem.

That is, of course, unless you have some of our sheets.

Our sheets may be handy as an analogy for the appeal of cum play, but they’re also damned useful for the practical act of exploring ejaculate and the excitement it might induce.

When semen meets our sheets it will stay there – not attempting to break through to any surface below, nor streaking away defiantly. Thanks to the large sizes we provide (which can be expanded via our bespoke service) you’ll also find that you can cover your whole bed, or a reasonable amount of the floor, and really go wild with any play ideas that cum (pun intended) to mind.

You can cover yourself, or someone else, in semen, roll your bodies around in it, and gleefully explore its qualities in tandem with the qualities of our own product, which will, in all cases, have you completely covered. This is our promise to you, and we’re proud to say that many satisfied customers can attest to the strength of our integrity.

To Dash

In Japanese, the term Bukkake translates as ‘to dash’, ‘splash’, or ‘to sprinkle water’ and we find this an oddly poetic, and rather beautiful, way to talk about cum play. It feels, in a way, tender and goes beyond the sexual rush of the action to the tender intimacy and trust that is involved in any fluid exchange.

That we can play a part in that experience – that you trust our sheets to enhance your own play sessions – brings us a great degree of pride and, whether you’re using them for cum or some other form of splashing, dashing enjoyment, we’d like to thank you for the confidence you have in us.

If you’ll afford us one last pun, it’s almost cumpletely overwhelming!

Here we start to look at some of the more intimate and perhaps slightly ‘taboo’ uses of our sheets. In all cases we will be treating these topics with respect and understanding. We’re sure you’ll do the same.

If you need to catch up on ‘Beneath the Sheets’ then why not check out the full collection here?

It’s been described as everything from gushing, to squirting, to the more clinical, but still rather empowering, female ejaculation. One thing is for certain: it’s definitely #NotPee.

What Is Squirting?

For many, squirting is still an elusive or enigmatic aspect of sex – the tantalizing mystery behind the curtain of sexual delight. Some people claim that a squirting orgasm is the key to the best climax ever, and more still actively seek “squirters,” or strive to perfect the art of squirting for themselves.

Science are still figuring out the details of squirting. The detail, is under debate and there are obvious biases which we will address later in this article, however it’s generally agreed that squirting is the release of fluids during sex, either from, or around the vagina.

Many believe that this release of fluids is from the skene’s gland, which is located on the upper wall of the vagina, and the action of squirting can release either a small amount of fluid or a formidable gush.

Yet, although squirting has its critics, it also has many fans. Google ‘Squirting Sex’ and you’ll get close to 12 million responses, most of which are porn.

Amazing particularly when you think how reticent people can be to talk about or even acknowledge it.

How Can I Squirt?

For those who have seen squirting, or heard of it, and have a sudden desire to recreate the action we do have some disappointing news for you: Squirting may not be an involuntary action but it’s also not necessarily something that everyone can do.

Like being able to touch your nose with your tongue, or creating a pitch-perfect whistle, squirting is something that comes naturally to some, can be worked towards by others, and is a quirk that others simply won’t be able to muster.

That doesn’t mean that you should give up your squirting dreams but it does mean that, when aspiring to squirt, it pays to remember that you are not a failure nor broken if you cannot squirt. All bodies are different and awesome in their own ways and yours is undoubtedly full of sexual prowess, squirting just may not be your forte.

A key aspect of hoping to squirt is also to allow your body to relax so that it can have a chance of achieving sexual pleasure. Sex and nerves, or even the fear of not reaching a certain goal, rarely produces positive results. So save yourself the worry and just enjoy your sexual experiences. I mean, what’s not to love about enthusiastic fucking?

But, if you do want to try squirting, we have some tips that you might find handy:

Get your Kegel exercises in daily. Strong pelvic muscles aid in enhanced sexual pleasure and control, so you’ll want to make sure your pelvic floor muscles are solid while your G-Spot swells.

Aim for the G-Spot and don’t shy away from pressure. Many people claim that the key to a good squirting orgasm is having either a firm hand or sex toy give them a persistent pressure on this erogenous zone. Even if you don’t squirt a good G-Spot orgasm is not something to be dismissed.

Don’t neglect the clitoris. Most vagina-owners cannot orgasm from internal stimulation alone, and there is absolutely no shame in grabbing for your favourite vibrator when going for a gushing finish. Strong vibrators are good and wands such as the Doxy or even the Sybian are historically great, but you’ll soon learn what works best for you. Oh, and make sure your toy is waterproof. Which brings us on to our last, perhaps most crucial piece of advice…

Put Down Some Sheets

One of the biggest fears or worries that aspiring and existing squirters alike have, is that they’ll end up dampening their bed or indeed wherever else they may be having fun. This apprehension can often be enough to cause people to clench up due to concern about the clean-up session that their pleasure might cause.

As mentioned before, nerves can massively hinder any attempts to squirt, meaning a fear of making a mess is a direct hindrance to any attempts to reach this coveted pleasure point. Plus, to some degree, it’s reasonable to consider clean-up a concern. Who wants a wet and messy bed after sex that they’ve got to deal with? It’s not exactly conductive to a post-fuck cuddle session, that’s for sure. Which is why putting down the right sheet can be everything.

By selecting a good, waterproof sheet you essentially make sure that you’ve got yourself and your bed covered for any potential squirting adventures. This eliminates worry because you know that, as soon as you’re done, you can simply remove the sheet and give it a quick clean. Problem solved. Pressure’s gone.

We may be a bit biased but we believe that the broad coverage, soft surface, and 100% waterproof qualities of our sheets makes them an excellent partner for squirting. But, hey, if you’re not sure about a full sheet, especially if you don’t squirt much, why not try some pillow covers first and lay those under you to for some localised cover? Call this a cheat but we’re confident that what you see out fabric can offer you’ll soon be back to complete your bedroom set.

Plus, and this means a lot to us to say…

We Support You

From about 2015 onward squirting has been afforded increased scientific and media attention and the results have been less than graceful.

A scientific study undertaken on squirting, published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, took an ultrasound of squirting individuals before and after ejaculation and found that the fluid emitted was largely comprised of the same fluids as urine.

This is fascinating research – especially as it found that the bladder would be empty before sexual arousal and would literally fill to facilitate squirting upon climax. It’s like a revelation of the female body’s knowledge of what feels good and capacity to achieve it with extreme biological prowess. It’s a shame most online press outlets didn’t feel the same.

‘Female ejaculation, or ‘squirting’, may just be peeing after all, study says’

‘Squirting is just peeing, Science says’

‘Study concludes that women who squirt during sex are actually peeing’

That last one was from a site that had the word ‘Science’ in its title too – as if this is definitive and not simply a point of scientific curiosity.

The overall atmosphere of these articles is depressingly negative, shaming, and devaluing of what is, prevalently, a form of female pleasure and sexual ownership. It aims to discredit, disvalue, or otherwise deprive women of the pleasure their bodies can produce.

Add to this that squirting was banned in British pornography in 2016 and you have a society that strives to repress the act of squirting.

And, to this, we give a huge, unapologetic, middle finger and if our teddy mascot, Elvis, has fingers we’re sure he’d do the same.

Sex should never be about repression, shame, nor the vilification of all the amazing things our bodies can do and we firmly believe in sexual freedom and liberation. When it comes to squirting our sheets won’t just facilitate a care-free attempt, but we also welcome you giving it a try.

Use our sheets to find your relaxation point, exercise whatever fluid-based arousal you wish on them, and gush to your heart’s content. We are here to provide the tools, and we support you wholeheartedly, but you’ve got the power.

If you’re a squirter then please, give our sheets a try, and we will be happier knowing we’ve given you yet another tool in your arsenal to achieve sexual delight. And, if you’re aspiring, then know that we wish you all the best and you won’t need to worry about a single stray droplet as long as you have our sheets to hand.

The use of lubricant is still considered as a marker of shame or a personal lacking by some people, stemming from the erroneous belief that if one cannot produce the fluids required for a certain sex act then they neither want it nor deserve it.

There are few beliefs as absurd as this.

A Reason for Lubrication

The biggest blow against the archaic attitudes held against lubricant is that not all sex acts provide natural lubrication, even if it were desired. A hand-job, for example, will not magically cause the penis to spurt its own juices to help facilitate the act. That fluid release only comes at the end of the experience, and for an entirely different purpose.

Anal sex, too, is incredibly ill-advised without some form of external lubrication. The anus does not produce any lubricant of its own, but that does not mean that pleasure cannot be sought from it, should lubricant be provided.

Then, of course, there are other parts of the anatomy. Breasts, for example, though wonderful to bring in to sex, may benefit from some slip ‘n slide. Could oil be used? Certainly, but then any latex condoms or other latex sex barriers used after this point would be at greater risk of breaking. Oil and latex don’t mix.

And this is only considering what could be seen as heterosexual sex acts.

Queer representation brings with it a whole array of other sex acts that can benefit from lubrication (fisting, for example, may benefit from ample lubrication). Solo or toy-centric sex also adds another element. What if you’re using a highly textured toy? Or perhaps a sex sleeve? What about toys that are so powerful that they could benefit from a buffer to smooth off their impressive oomph? In these instances, lubricant is vital.

Personal Passions

All the above are reasons as to why you might want to use lubricant but, as to why you may have to justify using lubricant, no justification is needed!

Lubricant is not always a necessity but it feels great, reduces potentially uncomfortable friction, can be flavoured and can offer different sensations during sex, making otherwise impractical sex acts suddenly rapturous in their execution.

Besides, even if one is using lubricant out of a need or a lack of personal fluids, what does it matter? We would never feel bad nor shame someone for needing to wear glasses to see better. Besides, ever since the resurgence of geek culture glasses are now sexy, and so it lubricant god dammit! No if’s or but’s. It’s a fact.

More to the point, someone’s personal preference is no one’s business but their own. If you dislike lubricant, then that’s fine; to use a popular phrase ‘you do you’. But never shame or judge someone for liking lubricant or wanting to try it. With so many benefits and variations, who wouldn’t be a little bit curious?

The Many Types of Lubricant

Just as crucial as knowing why lubricant can be beneficial is knowing what variations of lubricant are available to sample.

The most commonplace and useful of the lubricants is water-based lubricant. Utilizing the slippery nature of good old H2O, water-based lubricants are compatible with all condoms and adult products and provide a similar hydration to natural fluids. They can be very thin or almost gel-like but, in all instances, they have a lightness to them which many users value.

In comparison, silicone-based lubricant is not to be used with certain toys (silicone mixtures, and any porous/low-quality products), but it provides a powdery smoothness which is heavy, deliberate, and long-lasting. Its decadence is undeniable and it has a longevity that water-based lubricants sometimes lack. Purity of ingredients can be achieved with more ease when it comes to silicone lubricant, and its viscosity can still vary, but it is harder to wash off.

Oil-based lubricant is almost akin to slathering a luxurious Shea Butter treatment over the skin. It’s buttery and starts off firmly before melting in to the skin and spreading with ease. Like silicone lubricant, it lasts a long time, but it is much less compatible with toys and sex barriers (being a no-go for anything made with latex).

Flavoured and sensation lubricants can heat or cool genitals, or provide an exquisite culinary sampling alongside oral acts (sometimes all at the same time) and are typically water-based. When using these lubricants caution should be taken at first, and care given to ingredients, but there is nothing quite like reaping the benefits of a well-chosen lubricant at the end of it all.

A Slippery Embrace

Whatever lubricant you select, whatever option you take, we are certain of one thing – our sheets will not judge.

When designing our fluidproof sheets we did not know all of the wonderful ways in which they would be employed but we knew one thing for sure; their use was not something for us to specify or control, but rather to provide a product that encouraged experimentation and spontaneity.

And, when it comes to lubricant, we find it to be a fitting fluid to grace the surface of our sheets, just as valid and welcome as any other. Water-based lubricants will meet our sheets with ease—any excess droplets being of no concern as you get on with the main task at hand.

The temptation to extend the boundaries of silicone lubricant beyond the genitals can be actualized on top of our sheets without any worry of the staining properties that silicone is sometimes known to have. Our sheets can take a session of slathering fluids over each other. Trust us.

The same can be said with oil-based lubricant, which is equally valid for massage and sensation play (two topics we have discussed previously). How brilliant is it to have a lubricant that can double as a relaxing at-home spa treatment? And how nice to know that our sheets will allow you to explore your chosen lubricant uninhibited by practical concerns, as well as the concerns of society.

Flavour and sensation are two brilliant elements of lubrication, but both can come with messy colours or scents included that one might not necessarily wish to linger on the bedsheets. As usual we have you covered here (pun, of course, intended), and, if you so wish it, what happens on our sheets stays on our sheets…well, until you wash them, that is. We’ve yet to know a lubricant that has besmirched our fabric indelibly and we feel confident that this will remain the case.

So, It’s About Time We Embrace Lubrication!

If you’re already a lube enthusiast then celebrate it alongside us, as our sheets allow you to gush about it in new ways.

If you’re curious about lubricant, then our sheets will make sure that any exploration you embark upon is given the discretion and respect that it deserves.

And, if you have previously worried that lubricant was somehow shameful, we understand. Lubricant (and sex in general) gets a bad rep publicly, but we do hope that this article has peaked your interest in turning over a new leaf and perhaps bringing our sheets along for any slippery adventures that you may now have in mind.

If you haven’t kept up to date with this anthology then we suggest starting here for an explanation. From there it’s up to you how you wish to sample what our sheets have to offer. Enjoy the read.

It’s a crime against desire that ‘dimming the lights’ has been painted as an act of shame or sexual disgust. Not only do those who fall victim to such a mind-set reinforce a state of low self-esteem that is entirely unwarranted, but those who would impose it out of malice or some form of cultural humour are missing out of some of the most enticing aspects of sex.

What It’s All About

Sensory deprivation – be it by turning off the lights, using a blindfold, or going to kinkier lengths- isn’t a necessary part of sensation play, but it is one of many elements that can be incorporated. What matters most is the addictive allure of putting yourself at your partner’s mercy and the thrill of allowing your senses to lead your thoughts for an exquisite sexual experience.

is a pure delight and there are many ways to go about it.

Varying Ways to Play

In a rather poetic and somewhat George R.R. Martin manner, most people start their exploration of sensation play with a venture in to ice and fire. Not literally, playing with fire but experimenting with temperature variation is an extremely effective method of discovering where your limits are and in what ways you respond most appealingly to sensation play. It’s also easy and relatively inexpensive, which is perfect when just starting up.

Ice cubes are a popular choice, so is a chilled glass sex toy, or even a refreshingly cool drink on a hot summer’s day – if it has bubbles then all the better.

For heat, warmed hands can be run across your lover’s body stroking the skin, some freshly warmed oil can be drizzled over the body, or combine the two elements with some frosty ice cream and some heated chocolate sauce, great if you are working up an appetite too..

Creativity is the name of the game when it comes to sensation play. This is also reflected in other implements that can be used to tease the senses: Feather dusters, pieces of ribbon, a ruler, your own hands, lips and teeth all stroking the skin. Sensation play can eventually include pinwheels and spanking, and many other fun objects from the BDSM repertoire, but at its core, it is the feeling of the experience that matters – what you discover about yourself and the connection you forge with your partner as body language becomes a driving force in your play.

Messing It Up

Of course, as with any sex act, if not practiced in a safe, sane, and consensual manner, then sensation play can have some more dangerous elements to it. Always have a safe word (or even action) in place, gags, hoods, and vacuum toys are discouraged for those just starting out, and if using candles and oils you’ll want to make sure to use the correct kind and start with low temperature options.

But we are assuming that anyone interested in sensation play has already done their fair share of Google searches (especially if you’ve ended up here). What we’re talking about is the other kind of ‘mess’ that sensation play can induce—the kind that messes up your sheets and furniture.

A feather duster may not leave much of a mark in the bedroom, but massage oils, or chocolate sauce certainly will. Ice cubes, although essentially just water, may leave your bed damp and undesirable for after sex embraces, and most people’s desire to change the sheets straight after sex is essentially non-existent.

But spending time lying down together after sensation play is an incredibly important part of the process. Why? Being a form of BDSM, sensation play can essentially leave the recipient immersed in their own ‘headspace’, lost in dreamy thoughts, and generally overwhelmed by what’s just occurred.

Because of this an aftercare segment of sex is a must. This is a period where you lie down with your partner/s, give them the best and most loving physical contact to help bring them back to a more lucid state, and generally discuss what happened and the highs and lows of the experience.

None of this is possible if the mess you’ve made hinders your ability to lie down together afterwards. Which is why we’ve found that sensation play goes excellently with our sheets.

Keep the Sheets Clean (By Putting Our Sheets On)

In our previous article, we already touched on some of the ways in which our sheets may be good for sensation play (specifically with regards to oil) and how they can inherently play in to a sensation session. The tactile surface of our sheets acts as yet another element to bring in to play when dabbling with sensations, as you feel your body stroking its unique texture with every subtle motion.

We’d also like to think that the sheets themselves can be a creative tool for sensation play. While lying down on it, the edges of the sheet can be lifted and brought in to actively brush against the skin, tempting and teasing the recipient with the very space they’re chosen to lay themselves down on. But, in terms of practicality, it is the fluid proof element of our sheets which is of most use.

Capable of withstanding water, oil, lubricant, and, yes, even hot fudge and ice cream, without as much as a residual mark, our sheets allow you to indulge in sensual play sessions without disclosing your sexual habits to any visitors, nor ruining your after session (or aftercare) fun.

The waterproof aspect of our sheets and its ability to essentially contain liquids on its surface also means that (as long as you’re sensible) you should be able to pour, drizzle, and glide any surface across a person’s skin without having to worry about where it’s going, if it’s spilling too far, or if it will leave a stain.

In short, it’s not just your bed we’ve got covered; looking out for your sexual exploration is our vocation. And as long as people keep on indulging in the brilliant experience of sensation play we’ll be here to provide the right sheets for the job (in this case our throws are particularly useful).

In the Sensual Glow

In the satisfied aftermath of a worry-free sensation play session all you need do with our sheets is cast them aside and enjoy whatever aftercare you choose. Having some adult wet wipes to hand may be useful, to make sure any residual mess is off your body before returning to your covers, but if well-planned then our sheets can be the perfect addition to a sensation play session.

Or, if you’re so inclined, a gentle and grounding massage could even be part of the aftercare session, in which case leave our sheets right where they are and allow us to continue putting your mind at ease while you do the same to each other’s bodies.
